The Not-So-Cool Tongue Piercing

Good morning and welcome to Whining with Wisdom. I’m Mikayla Clark. And I’m Devin Collins. Today we are discussing tongue piercings. A lot of kids think this is cool. More and more teenagers are getting them pierced. When people get them pierced they undergo pain, swelling, taste loss, numbness and drooling. This is only the beginning. Your tongue is used for eating, talking, chewing, and swallowing. Once you perform these activities with a piercing in your tongue it could chip or fracture your teeth, cause infection or even death! How can a piercing cause death you may ask. Well, your mouth is moist and your tongue has major blood vessels ideal for spreading and causing infection that could kill you. One woman had to have half of her skull removed because the back on her piercing had gone into her brain and she almost died. Also you could get Hepatitis if unsterile instruments are used to do the piercing. I’m Mikayla Clark. And I’m Devin Collins and this has been Whining with Wisdom. Now back to the Newsdesk.

Airbus A380 with Katie Parkins

THANKS JACOB AND DELANY.
A DOUBLE DECKER PLANE CALLED A380 MADE IT’S FIRST TRIP TO THE USA YESTERDAY, AND TOOK OFF FROM FRANKFURT INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN GERMANY.
THIS PLANE SEATS 500 PEOPLE, IS 239 FEET LONG, AND HAS A WINGSPAN AS WIDE AS A FOOTBALL FIELD.
THAT MEANS IT COULD FIT THE WHOLE 6TH AND 7TH GRADES.
THE EUROPEAN MANUFACTERERS, WHO CREATED THIS PLANE, HOPE TO SHOW OFF THEIR REVOLUTIONARY DESIGN, AND POSSIBLY INFLUENCE AMERICANS.
“WE’RE TALKING ABOUT AN AIRPLANE THAT IS REPRESENTING AVIATION IN THE 21ST CENTURY,” SAYS JEN BISCHOFF, LAFTNANSA, THE COMPANY THAT CREATED A380,’S VICE PRESIDENT FOR THE AMERICAS.
WHO KNOWS, IN THE FUTURE, YOU MIGHT JUST FLY ON ONE OF THESE AIRBUSSES.
BACK TO YOU JACOB AND DELANY.
